In his talk, “Why it is so hard to innovate. Findings from cognitive science and neuroscience”, Markus Peschl addressed recent developments in cognitive science suggesting that brains are basically prediction machines. They are geared to avoid uncertainty and facilitate action in predictable environments. Yet, innovation requires quite the opposite; openness and unpredictability. The main innovation challenge is thus our own, human constitution.
