We are proud to be part of the Springer-Gablers management book series “Corporate Social Responsibility” with a chapter on “Organizations shaping a thriving future – On future-oriented innovations and personal transformation”. In this article we address the following key question(s): How can we shape or innovate for a thriving future? In other words: How can we make sense of the world and intervene in it when we are confronted with fundamental changes and major challenges at both a global and local scale (e.g. climate change, the financial crisis and the continuing decline of capitalism, and issues related to energy and resource use)? What are possible (working) environments and ecosystems that could address these challenges?
